His basic battle technique is to shoot large plasma balls down from above, or to use the machine gun-like device in his stomach, or to sweep his arm across the roof. You should definitely be getting a solid feel for the game's mechanics by this point.įinally, after smashing roofs, towers, and entire buildings, the large foe gets to go head-to-head with Soki. Make sure to collect souls and gold, and continue to get used to the controls. He'll also send some more difficult Armored Soldiers onto the roof that you may actually have to defend against slightly, but even they won't put up much of a fight, ultimately. They are a mere distraction, but keep killing them to collect their valuable gold and souls. Before you do battle here with this large foe, keep in mind that he will send Genma Soldiers onto the roof to fight you as first. At this time, you'll gain control once more. Soki will jump onto the roof to get a better vantage point. His power doesn't nearly equal his humongous stature. As you proceed further down the street, however, a cutscene will take over and a large demonic figure appears before Soki that has been ravaging the town. Continue to collect the souls and gold they drop as you fell them. Break it open and retrieve the potion by using the Circle button.Īs you head left down this new street, more Genma Soldiers will be there waiting for you, but as you probably have already realized, they are easy to beat down, and without even being in danger of being injured. But before heading down there to take the brunt of the enemy force, make sure to swing left down an alley to grab the Medicine LV 1 that's sitting in a jar there. As you go forward, much of the same will be taking place to your left. They won't put up much of a resistance, so slash away at them and make sure to grab any gold and (especially) souls they leave behind. As you gain control of Soki, many Genma Soldiers will immediately be in front of you, ready to fight. The feel isn't complicated, but it is unique. This is especially important if you're new to the Onimusha series. The idea is not only to proceed through the stage, but also to pay attention to the prompts given to you on-screen and to therefore get a feel for the game. This first stage is a training mission of sorts.
